The northeast gateway entrance to Downtown Park opened in June 2021 and serves as the primary connection between the park and downtown’s commercial district. It includes an entry plaza, water feature and seating area and includes public artwork, titled Piloti, by artist Marc Fornes/THEVERYMANY. Situated between the fields of art and architecture, this innovative artwork features fluted columns rising up to form a canopy with perforated light coming through. It reflects Bellevue's innovative technology sector, natural forms and robust creative community of thinkers and makers. The artwork opened to the public in May 2023.
