Sound Transit 2 Line

While East Link light rail won’t connect to Seattle until 2025, Sound Transit will open eight stations on April 27, 2024 with service between the South Bellevue and Redmond Technology stations. This spans I-405 and anchors the Grand Connection with the Bellevue Downtown and nearby Wilburton 2 Line stations.

The remaining portion of the 2 Line (the name for East Link as it is integrated with the rest of the local light rail network), crossing Lake Washington with stops in Judkins Park and Mercer Island, is slated to open later, possibly by spring of 2025. This regional investment will bring more life and vibrancy to Downtown Bellevue and the Grand Connection route while serving the growing Eastside with fast, frequent and reliable light rail service.
